In this section we'll take a closer look at some items which the staff is particularly excited about.  Wines, spirits, whatever catches our fancy at the moment - this is the section to read about the products we're enjoying!

Tyler chose a great value red from Spain, the Filon:  "Spanish wines are often incredible bargains and Filon is a great example.  This 100% Garnacha unfolds with rich dark fruit notes including cherry and plum.  The wine finishes nicely with hints of licorice and a slight smokiness.  If you are looking for a surprisingly bold red that doesn't break the bank, then Filon is the perfect choice.  Enjoy!"

Erik:  "We look forward to bringing many more malts onto our shelves, but for now I'll go with the Caol Ila 12 year.  Caol Ila is located on the western Scottish isle of Islay, where the barley is baked dry over fiery bricks of peat prior to fermentation.  This imparts the region's characteristic smoky character to the finished malt, although Caol Ila isn't as aggressive in its 'peatiness' as what we find in its Islay neighbor distilleries Ardbeg or Laphroaig, for instance.  The peat wafts in more gently here, allowing a sweet brininess and hints of smoked meat to emerge and commingle on the palate.  Throw in a dash of Spanish olive flesh and fresh grass, and you begin to appreciate the complexity of this classic whisky."

David's picks are the Espolon Blanco and Reposado Tequilas. "These are my go-to summer spirits. Boasting great quality for a fair price, I incorporate the blanco into countless refreshing summery cocktails, while I best enjoy the reposado over ice, sometimes with a dash of fresh lime juice."
